CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Life can be hard. Give yourself the gift of a confidential, safe space to talk with a caring, trained
professional. I will seek to understand you, to listen to what’s troubling you, and I will
help you to find your strength to make it through difficult times.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE:
I work with adolescents and adults in individual therapy. Grounded in a variety of therapeutic
modalities, I offer therapy that can be short-term and solution-focused, or long-term depth
therapy. I commonly treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, relationship patterns, stress
management, and the existential questions of Who am I? What I am I supposed to do with my
life? and When will I feel “normal” again? I enjoy working with a diversity of clients, with a
particular interest supporting young people navigating adulting, individuals navigating difficult
life transitions, and anyone who is looking for support with self-care and personal growth.
PROFESSIONAL BIO:
I have been a therapist for more than 20 years. My clients describe me as down-to-earth,
genuine, and real. They also tell me that I ask good questions! I believe that my job as your therapist
is to provide a space for you to be yourself, talk about what’s troubling you, and help you get to the
answers and solutions that are right for you. Therapy with me is like having a conversation with someone
who is on your side. We will talk, brainstorm, and sometimes even laugh. My greatest pleasure will be
to see you gain clarity, confidence, and take action toward achieving your goals.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a certified Jungian Psychotherapist. I have
worked as a therapist with diverse clients facing a variety of issues, therefore, I use a wide range
of therapeutic methods and styles to find what works for you. I will often use mindfulness, CBT,
and strengths-based approaches. I might give you homework, help you analyze your dreams, or
increase your understanding of your situation so you know you’re not alone and there is a way
through.
I began my career as a therapist at a community mental health center in Chicago. I’ve owned a
private practice in Albuquerque, and recently worked at the UNM outpatient psychiatric center
with young adults who have experienced an episode of psychosis, many of whom had been
diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I provide a confidential, nonjudgemental space for all, including
fellow therapists, first responders, veterans, and those in the public eye, such as politics and
entertainment.
In addition to my therapy background, I have enjoyed a wide range of careers, including the arts,
community leadership, research, and writing. I have worked in private and public organizations,
as well as enjoying self-employment. I am happy to help you with work and career-related
issues, including career development, workplace bullying, and finding your right work-life
balance or living your best life post-retirement.
My self-care includes spending time with family and friends, gardening, playing the ukulele,
cooking, and reading mystery novels. I share my life with two dogs, a cat, a duck, two horses,
and two goldfish. I believe that nature is healing, and we all need some fresh air and sunshine
every day.
